Beware of a new iteration of an old scam going around on Facebook and Instagram that appears to feature a video with AI voices (artificial intelligence voices) kind of like an imposter scam for Oprah Winfrey and Dr. Oz that makes it seem as if they endorsed or created some sort of super weight loss gummies or keto gummies or CBD gummy products or a "super gummy" or diet pills or supplements. They never featured or endorsed anything about these supposed weight loss keto gummies products. It’s not true. None of it. These ads were going around on Meta on Facebook, Instagram, Audience Network, and Messenger. The ads and the apparent AI voices make it look like Oprah and Dr. Oz are endorsing the super weight loss gummies or keto gummies or CBD gummy products, but it’s all a scam. This is not a deepfake, however. Also, keep in mind that scammers sometimes use products and company names without authorization, with the company having no involvement with the scams. The Oprah and Dr. Oz super weight loss gummies or keto gummies or CBD gummies scam videos with AI voices and also the fake articles that resulted from clicking the video ads led to websites that claimed the products had been reviewed, endorsed, or mentioned by Fox News, USA Today, CBS News, CNN, Women’s Health, and NBC. Again, this wasn’t a thing that really happened. None of it. The Oprah and Dr. Oz super weight loss gummies scam AI voices videos and articles, as well as the fake reviews, were hosted on various scam websites. The fake articles sometimes led to a website for the product that showed a customer service and support phone number and email address. I’ve seen signs of China, Hong Kong, and Japan with these scams, but it’s difficult to find exactly where any of the activity is coming from. If you were scammed by this super weight loss gummies scam that used Oprah and Dr. Oz’s image and likeness and AI voices, I recommend you contact the company or contact the payment method you used to make the purchase, such as your credit card company, and let them know you saw a scam article that falsely claimed a famous person or celebrity endorsed the product.
